The Law Of Attraction And Economics

By Wayne M. Chase

According to the law of attraction you will get what you think about. If you think in a negative way, bad things will happen; if you think positively good things will happen. It can be taken even further by attributing all the good or bad things that happen to us to the way we think. Wikipedia gives an example of someone receiving an envelope in the mail. Positive thought will produce a check, negative thought will produce a bill.

Well, let's take a look at this from an economic perspective. Forget about morality or religion or anything like that. Let's just take a look at the basic mechanics of money and human action. There are only five ways to get money. You can find it, receive it as a gift, steal it, print it or earn it. I'm going to assume that when you meditate or visualize the LOA, you aren't stealing, finding, being given, or printing money. You are earning it somehow. You are trading your skills or products for cash. Now, let's consider the basics of human trade. We only trade things when we think we are getting the better end of the deal. When you buy a hamburger for a dollar, you actually think the hamburger is worth more to you than the dollar. Otherwise, you wouldn't make the exchange. That would be like changing a dollar for a dollar, which would be silly.Likewise, the person selling you the hamburger would rather have the dollar. Before the exchange, you have a dollar, but you want a hamburger. He or she has a hamburger but would rather have the dollar. After the exchange you are both better off.

The danger is, we can be led to believe all we have to do is to sit around thinking good, positive thoughts and our success development would be assured. In fact, our life would be full of only good things happening to us and we would achieve our goals almost without our doing anything. Does anyone really believe that? The only people I know of who have power, wealth or the good things of life without doing anything are those born into it. The rest of us have to work at it.Have you noticed how successful people talk and act? They generally have a confident, can-do attitude. It is not that they have not had to deal with plenty of challenges or they do not recognize the future challenges. It is simply that they have decided to meet these challenges positively with the expectation they will overcome them and succeed.

They have developed a habit of positive thinking that banishes any doubts they may have and this keeps them enthusiastic and motivated. This attitude attracts more success because that is what they are focusing on and what they have come to expect. For most people, success comes with hard, smart work coupled with a positive attitude and positive action. Then the law of attraction will work by drawing positive things and positive people to you, which will accelerate your success development. Fill your mind with great expectations in the firm belief you can attain them and you will be presented with all the opportunities you need. Many scientists and theorists from across the globe have come to the conclusion that everything is regulated and governed by a set of universal laws such as the law of cause and effect and the law of gravity.

Some people are turned off by the whole "Law of Attraction," metaphysical, New Age thing and honestly, I can understand that. Personally, I love seeing the magic and wonder of life and enjoy seeing things as miraculous, but that's just me. So, when you see me referring to the Law of Attraction, what exactly am I talking about? Let's just break it down for a moment. Law of Attraction followers generally intend, visualize, focus, look for signs, act, think positively, manifest, and stay grateful. Sounds a little "different" with "intentions" and "manifestations." But to put that in other terms, you set goals, visualize (as an athlete does), watch for opportunities to reach those goals, act, have faith, and are thankful when it happens. Doesn't sound nearly as mystical, does it? Let me expand a bit step by step.

An intention is another way of setting a goal. The difference I've found in intending versus goal setting is my attitude. When I set a goal I generally see it as something that has to get done. It is work. I'm dreading it a bit, but I have to get through it to get to where I want to be. Intentions on the other hand are exciting. I'm looking for opportunities for success, I have faith that they are coming and I get very excited at even the slightest thing that points to my success. Every time I have something to do toward that "goal" I'm excited.

Visualizing is mentally practicing success which has been proven time and again in creating success. This is an aspect that is often used in sports but left out in most people's ideas of goal setting. Taking the time to picture your success in your mind can have a great impact on your life.Focusing keeps us intent on actively looking for ways to help us reach our goals. It helps us see the opportunities showing up in our lives and reminds us to act when they appear. A side benefit of this one is that is really will help you to appreciate the moment. If we are looking for opportunities and good things in life, we are living more in the moment than if we are worrying about the future or grumbling about the past.

The second step to deliberately attract success is to raise our vibration. We must always bear in mind that we do not get what we want but we get what we vibrate. We must therefore become a "vibrational match" to what we want in order to attract what we truly desire. One way to raise our vibration is to act as if we are already successful and start experiencing how we would be feeling if we had already achieved the success we wanted, how joyful we would feel and how happy and excited we would be as a result of achieving the success we desire. We can also use affirmations or use phrases like "I am very successful now." to raise our vibration to attract the success we desire in our life. We can also use visualization and see ourselves already experiencing the success we want.

The third step for deliberate attraction is to allow success to manifest in our life. Allowing is the absence of doubt and fear. If we have a strong desire to be successful but at the same time, we have strong doubts, we will never be able to attract what we want because we will be sending mixed signals in the universe. If, on the other hand, we have a strong desire and some doubts, we will attract success, but it will take a little longer. If we want to rapidly manifest success, we have to have a strong desire with no doubt at all.We all deserve to be successful in life and whatever dreams we have, we all have the potential to achieve them as absolutely nothing is impossible. We just have to follow the great advice of Walt Disney, who rightly said, "If you can dream it, you can do it."
