Some Simple Mindfulness Training Techniques

By Lena Stephenson

One of the things you have always wanted to correct about yourself is your inability to be in the moment. You tend to be always drifting somewhere else. You're never really present. You are not in the moment, you're determined to actually change this. This is why you are trying to find ways on how you can.

You are determined to change this though, you know that if you want to truly live life, then you have to make sure that you actually feel it. Live it. It is reassuring that you can actually achieve these goals through mindfulness training. You just need to employ appropriate techniques to incorporate this with the way you live life.

If you wish to start pursuing these techniques, then see to it that you are willing to create a habit out of them. The key here is constant practice. Continuous practice would help you a lot into incorporating these good practices in the way you live life. They need to be interwoven in the manner which you deal with everyday living.

You would be surprised about how easy it often is to introduce these changes to the way you're living your life, you would be pleased to now that you don't necessarily have to do major adjustments to get them added to the way you deal with life. Often, it's the many little things that you change here ad there that will count.

A good start would be to appreciate your eating time better. Instead of ogling at the tv or the computer screen when having your meal, take it at the actual dining table. Savor your food. Savor the taste. Savor the texture. Use this chance to really eat and be full ad be nourished.

Practice being mindful during those times when you are doing nothing and waiting for your turn, waiting times are always excellent opportunities for you to be aware of what you are doing, w ho you are with, and the kind of environment that you are in. Focus on the people around you and the rest of the elements present to achieve this.

Learn how to better get a hold of your emotions to. It is always easy for people to flare up when their emotions are on the rise. When one is high-strung, it is often easy to say and do things that you are not supposed to do. Learn to control these urges. Do not let emotion take over. Remain reasonable.

Aim at being kind. Aim at being compassionate. You will be more in the moment when you have compassion for the people that are around. This does not only involve those people that you know or are close to you. Make sure that this includes those whom you do not know as well.

Listen. Really listen. On of the things that people tend to do these days is to be involved in a conversation where they are not really listening to what is being said. When you really listen, you understand what is being said, you understand the message. Do not converse just to respond, but to really listen.

Avoid multitasking. Sure, you might think that you are actually accomplishing a lot of things at the same time, but it has been proven time and again, that this is not the case. Uni-task. This allows you to focus and give your one hundred percent to what you are doing. Then, you get more than satisfactory results.
