A Few Notes On Nurturing A Brave Life

By Gregory Hayes

Opportunities in life are missed mainly because people are afraid to spread their wings and soar. While fear may be a normal reaction physiologically, it can become crippling if it is not addressed or if it goes overboard. Every person needs to, therefore, get to know methods of nurturing a brave life in order to enjoy it in full while at the same being a productive individual in the society.

To begin with, it is of utmost importance for one to accept fear being a problem in their life. It does not make it any better if the problem is swept under the carpet and hoping that it will disappear by itself. Embracing personal fear enables one to face their daily challenges in a more relaxed manner, without having to worry too much.

Upon acknowledgement, it becomes much easier to confront a problem, taking one day at a time. As they say, an elephant needs to be eaten a bite at a time. Therefore, one should handle the fear knowing that it may not be overcome in one instance and that it may take several attempts to put up a perfect act of bravery.

Mentorship is key in nurturing bravery in life. Mentors play the role of holding the hand of the victim and assuring them that fear can be overcome. Suitable mentors are those who have been through challenges akin to the one the subject may be facing and have overcome them with courage. In addition, the mentee should be able to interact with them freely without hesitation. This is usually possible if the person is of the same peer group.

Getting support from friends and family goes a long way in fostering your growth. One lives every day knowing that someone cares for them. They are pushed to go through various situations with zeal in order to make their loved ones even prouder. One can tag along these close people to places they wish to conquer. Friends and family provide a solid support system since they will always hold your hand no matter what.

A good number of situations that we handle from day to day call for an act of courage. Such situations range from the simple things such as speaking to strangers to more complex matters such as having to fight off a pride of lions in the middle of the forest. For a woman to successfully give birth, immense courage is required. Similarly, courage is required when going experiencing a troublesome disease.

Use of support groups is a critical way of gaining bravery mileage. Individuals with certain medical conditions such as cancer greatly benefit from support groups. Such groups are composed of people with almost similar, if not exact conditions that they try to overcome. Attending these meetings enables them to unload their weight and face every new week with renewed strength.

In conclusion, it is important for individuals to know that fear can affect anyone, no matter who they are. It takes great determination and patience to overcome it. The main secret is to take a day at a time and celebrate even the small successes that come your way.
