Knowing Anger Management Problems And Its Treatment

By Deborah Butler

When a situation makes you feel overwhelmed, sometimes you cannot stop yourself from letting out your emotions. Seeing someone so significant to you vanished can make you cry. The sight of success makes you want to jump in happiness. Furthermore, when hurt and pain is dominating you, you might either burst in tears or in fury. Those emotions are pretty normal for humans. That is why, you must not be ashamed if your tears began to fall out of sadness. However, too much of those feelings is not good. When your fury cannot is uncontrollable, you might need some anger management counseling Seattle.

All humans have definitely experienced being angry towards something or someone. An elder suddenly started to complain and swear because the line for the ticket booth is too long and he is now hungry. A woman slapped her boyfriend because she caught him cheating. You too have that moment when your blood is starting to boil and going up to your head, making you explode. It is okay to feel that way, however, it will now be bad if you express it in a wrong way.

Just like this situation. Corrine was washing the dishes and suddenly she heard a loud crash from her room. As she went there, she found out that her figurine collections were shattered and her little brother, Jimmy, was holding a ball, giving her an apologetic look. Her hands were trembling as if it has an urge to wring the neck of her brother.

If ever you are in her shoes, you could just reprimand her brother and tell the parents about it. But Corrine has some anger problems, so she would do the opposite. She would grab a broom stick and start beating Jimmy with that object.

The most common one is expressing themselves like almost all the time in a livid manner. These people could find it hard to be calmer at expressing their emotions. When you met a person like that who keep on giving angry looks to many people and could not hold it, her or she had that problem.

Another sign is their level of aggression. Out of rage, they would physically harm that person and show some aggressive behaviour like beating, punching, yelling or using objects to displace their anger. And it would turn worse once alcohol and drugs are involved. They might even harm themselves in frustration.

When that problem is not treated, it would certainly affect the social life of a person. Telling them to calm down is not the right option. Venting it out is not even good since it will just worsen the anger emotion.

In that case, a professional and medical advice from psychologists and guidance counsellors are helpful. They will then recommend the anger management therapy. This therapy might be done by individual or group. Moreover, clients will also be taught on controlling their rage and impulse as well teaching them some techniques for relaxation and breathing.

Remember that excessive feeling of fury resulting to some violence is not normal. Therefore, seek some treatment for it. That way, life will continue to go on normally and healthy.
