How To Deal With Long Commutes

Great distances from home to work often lead to one stressful obligation - a long commute. As the distance increases, the hours of commuting from home to work become longer. This is a daily routine that one must endure if he or she is really looking to make money or make a living.

One common thing that is brought about by long commutes for many people is the insufficient amount of sleep or bed rest. Having to spend time with your family requires enough hours at work, having to use the remaining time for sleep is no longer easy if you still have to deal with a long commuting hours.

Having to undergo long commutes from work to your home is inevitable especially if you cannot afford a fast car that can take you anywhere you want to go in just a matter of minutes. What you can do is save your strength for other activities after the long commute and keep your mind and body busy and active during the process. So how do you survive a long commute?

One thing that people commonly do in order to buy time when riding a bus home or to work is to read a journal or a book. Reading a book will further enhance your knowledge and will draw your attention away from the time. After you read a few pages of the book, you will be able to tell that time flies by so quickly.

Playing games on your phone or gadget can also be a fun and interesting way to deal with long commutes. Playing games or browsing pictures and videos on your gadget is not something that many people would do when idle but this surely is a fun thing and something worth doing during the long ride. Playing the most played games today and compete with your friends is as fun as ever.

Want to make money on the time you are on the long commute? One way to earn good money even in commute is to write an article or a personal blog. Since your body is not doing any much activities during traveling, the mind can become very keen. In this scenario, article or blog writing would be the best thing that you can do. Write or blog about your experience at work, how to make a long commute more fun and more profitable and others. This is a good way to buy time whenever not doing anything like commuting and can even make you a great amount of money when published over the internet.

And of course, you can also do the conventional thing to do when bored in a bus ride home or to work - talk with others. Talking with fellow-passengers has been the usual thing that commuters do. There would be those that would simply ignore this tip as they are less confident about themselves and their skills. The only hard part in socializing is how to start the conversation. You need to think of an interesting subject as well as a topic that both of you passengers can relate from. And again before you talk to that person beside you, check out his or her mood if he or she is in the mood for a talk.
